Its not over! Untill I don't know when. Oddly there is enough essence of sun to keep my tomatoes and chillis marching on. Both toms and chillis still ripening. Toms taste great. I have not tried a red or green chilli yet but looking forward making curry with them. Many thanks street farm. They have been great companions for the last 8mnths.

Well the weather has certainly done its best to make it a dull summer but, tending to street farm, has been a sunny experience so far. Im hoping this indian summer will help it continue a bit longer. Out of the 6 I manged to grow cucumber, basil, wild thing and Chilli. Mac two weeks ago kindly gave me a well established tomatoe plant. Despite the british weather, my lack of green fingers, and most unfortunately forgetting to arrange for someone to water the plants whilst i was away for the recent bank holiday it has been great fun and successful in more ways than i imagined. Although the lack of water did for the cucumber plant itself, one mini cucumber remained edible. This was made into a salad and very tasty it was. The pleasure of eating this after all these months was fantastic. I have several chillis coming on, the basil i have used in salads has great flavour, the tomatoe plant has flowers and really hoping i can get at least one tomato. The wild thing is a category of its own. It is appropriately named and everyday surprises me how much bigger, more leaves, more funny stem things, buds and changes to buds. This plant just makes me smile. As for now im holding hope for a couple more weeks of sun. Everything grown on an internal window sill on the fourth story in hove with a west facing window. I definitely need to learn some Pruning skills for next year. Thanks street farm.
